Learn about our Professional Las Vegas Solar Contractors

Who we are

Robco Electric’s Solar Team members have been in the solar industry for over 30 years; we are the best solar company in Las Vegas. Having installed PV systems in Nevada over the past four years, and with hundreds of satisfied customers, our certified installers (with over 70 years of construction experience) have been able to partner with some of the best electrical and structural engineers in the West. Solar Energy is our passion and PV (Photovoltaics – Solar Electric) is our specialty. Our volume of business allows us to bulk-purchase equipment and offer our clientele the best competitive pricing available for ownership of a Solar panel system in Southern Nevada.

We have a unique marketing approach: You will never get a high pressure sales pitch from Robco Electric. We only educate our clientele and keep them abreast of every single step along the way to Go Solar.

We directly oversee each and every job we do and only hire and train the best licensed solar installers. In fact, many of the people we work with have graduated from our own training programs in Photovoltaic Installation and Design and Sales which we have been teaching for several years at The College of Southern Nevada and the Associated Builders and Construction Training Center. We also have conducted training for the Urban League and the Nevada Department of Employment and Rehabilitation and set up the solar training for the US Job Corps in San Diego.

What we do

As solar experts, we are on a mission to EDUCATE Nevada communities how to power their homes and businesses with high quality Solar PV products, while providing exceptional customer service and 100% satisfaction. We design, engineer, install, commission, troubleshoot and maintain Photovoltaic systems. We have installed systems in California and Northern and Southern Nevada including:

  • Utility Scale systems for Barrett Mining
  • Commercial systems of all sizes
  • Not-for-Profit Institutional systems for Catholic Charities
  • Residential systems from 3 bedroom homes to 7,500 square foot custom houses

We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality, most efficient solar systems using the best available materials, equipment and installation best-practices. We also provide installation, technical advice, engineering and equipment to other solar installers and do our best to support the growth and professionalism of the US solar PV market.

As part of our commitment to the expansion of solar energy, we have trained more than 1200 students in our solar training programs and many have found work in the industry. We trained installers for a 440 MW project in Primm, Nevada, as well as the expansion of the Copper Mountain solar field in Boulder City.

Our History

Act 1 – Training and Education

The genesis of Robco Electric’s Solar Installation Team came from a meeting of like-minded individuals who got together at the Springs Preserve in 2009 to discuss how to develop the PV industry in Nevada. Three of the dozen or so people that showed up had actual experience in Solar. We decided that one of the largest barriers to growth of the PV industry was the lack of qualified Nevada solar installers. At the time there were only slightly more than 300 OSHA licensed solar PV installers in the entire state.

We discussed the fact that two of the largest solar installations in the state at the time – The Springs Preserve and Nellis Air Force Base were installed mostly by people who came from outside the region. Bruce Rogol, had extensive solar training program design experience and got together with a very experienced PV installer, Jeremy White, and designed a curriculum. Their first client was Helix Electric where they trained some 200 electricians, solar designers and salespeople in PV Fundamentals. At Helix’s request, the program moved to Associated and Builders and Contractors and eventually to the College of Southern Nevada where it became a cornerstone of their new Renewable Resources Curriculum. Their PV programs represented 2 of the 3 NABCEP approved PV training programs in the state. After 3 years and graduating literally hundreds of students, Jeremy and Bruce became interested in expanding their scope to include the challenge of starting up their own small solar business. Their first 10,000 Watt residential solar system was installed in August of 2010 for the Green Code Compliance Coordinator for the City of Las Vegas Building Department.
